Miles today: 63.08 Blog for the day: Ouch, that was a wake up call. First day with some hills and first col of the tour. Got up this morning and the weather looked terrible. All the apps were saying it would be fine, but it was black out, with strong winds and the odd rain shower. By the time I got going, it had all cleared up and it was just overcast for the rest of the day with sun breaking through now and again. Muggy though, and windy. Got to Saint-Tropez in good time. Sat and watched the boats come and go then headed up to Plan de La Tour, where we stayed some 15yrs ago. Nothing worth eating there because of the £££. Pushed on and up the big climb, past the place we stayed. The descent was good fun with some clear views on sweeping bends to take a straight line. Roads are really heavy around here though, makes for hard work. Put in some more steep climbs into the route, god knows why. And then got to the hotel. Nice little village and what looks like an old Roman working aqueduct on the edge of town. Good day but tiring.
