Blog for the day:
Ah a dry cool morning to start the day off. France lost the football last night, did better than England - again. So it was an easy ride again, some 20 odd miles around the Loire and its chateaus. The roads were good and the main one which I tried to avoid at all costs was actually pretty quiet and easy. I was hoping to cycle around the grounds of one lovely chateau but it was all fence off and one had to pay to get into the grounds, grrrr. Oh well

Lost my map somewhere but knew where the first vineyard was to taste wine. We popped in and it was ok, we got a few bottles and asked about some other caves and also where to get the white wine we drank at the hotel. Next stop we got a case of Malbec, lovely.

The weather was windy and cool with the odd bit of rain in the air. The scenery was amazing as we cycled through the vines.

Amboise was nice but everything shut accept the tourist crap shops. I wanted to get up to the top of the chateau for the views but again, it was locked down and you had to buy a ticket.

I went off to find the last place we had wanted to get some wine from. We bought a lot there lol. Then we headed to camp via chateau. X X which crosses the river, gorgeous. I had wanted to see this one since I saw it on le tour a number of years ago.

At camp someone had take the pitches I had reserved and booked in October last year. They are out and we have put our tents in front of their caravan. Watch this space.
